Języki obce dla dzieci - nowa książka

Co to za książka?

Książka poświęcona jest nauce języków obcych przez zabawę. Zawiera szereg tematycznych pomysłów na przeprowadzenie zabaw językowych. Książka ma charakter uniwersalny i nie narzuca nauki konkretnego języka. Można więc korzystać z niej na dowolnych zajęciach każdego języka nowożytnego.


Dla kogo?

Stworzyliśmy ją z myślą o zabieganych nauczycielach, którzy ciągle poszukują nowych materiałów dydaktycznych, aby skutecznie ale i w urozmaicony sposób prowadzić swoje zajęcia językowe. Zachęcamy nauczycieli uczących w przedszkolach i szkołach podstawowych do korzystania z tej inspirującej książki.

Animals on the planet

Let your pupils learn about the animals on our planet. They will acquire the names of the commonest mammals through pictures without a problem. It is a nice board game based on puzzle pieces and it is suitable for children of age 4-10.



Cookie Monster

Gra nadaje się na zajęcia językowe w trakcie nauki liczebników, a także alfabetu. Można w nią grać w pomieszczeniu jak również na podwórku. Wiek dzieci 4 lata +

Wariant A - Liczebniki
Rozpoczęcie:
Wyznaczamy jedno dziecko na Cookie Monster'a i ono staje w odległości 8-10m od reszty grupy. Pozostałe dzieci stają w linii na przeciw Cookie Monster'a. 
Dzieci w grupie zaczynają:
"Cookie monster, Cookie monster; What time is it?"
Cookie Monster odpowiada podając godzinę 1-24:
"It's twelve"
Dzieci licząc do dwunastu małymi krokami przemieszczają się w kierunku Cookie Monster'a. 
Po kilku próbach Cookie Monster odpowiada:
"It's cookie time"
Dzieci uciekają, a Cookie Monster łapie jedno dziecko, które staje się nowym Cookie Monster'em. 

Wariant B - Alfabet 
Rozpoczęcie jak wyżej.
Dzieci w grupie zaczynają:
"Cookie monster, Cookie monster; What letter do you want to eat?"
Cookie Monster odpowiada podając godzinę 1-24:
"Letter G"
Dzieci małymi krokami przemieszczają się w kierunku Cookie Monster'a wyliczając kolejno litery alfabetu. 
Po kilku próbach Cookie Monster odpowiada:
"It's cookie time"
Dzieci uciekają, a Cookie Monster łapie jedno dziecko, które staje się nowym Cookie Monster'em. 

Interview your partner - a roleplay

Studenst complete the table with questions while interviewing their partners. Students compare their similarities and differences. Use the worksheet provided below.

Students start comparing themselves like that:
I talked to Jen. We have some similarities. For example, both of us like to play music. I play guitar and Jen plays piano. Also, we aren’t shy. We always like to gossip a lot. etc

Warm-up activity

Mime Game
Description: This activity can be used as a fun warm up or closing activity as well as a way to review actions and situations.
Examples:
You hate school.
You are very, very, very busy.
You have a toothache.
You are broke, you don’t have any money.
You want to get married.
You hate your English Teacher.
Your arm is broken.
You love your English Teacher.
Your heart is broken because your girlfriend/boyfriend left you.
You can’t sleep.

Command Prepositions Game

Instructions:
This activity can be used as a review of prepositions. Put the students into
two teams and form them into two lines. You then give them the following commands
and count the score on the board.
Examples of commands:
Shake hands with your classmate.
Put a pencil in a pencil box.
Say the word “above” 3 times.
Put your hand in a classmate’s pocket.
Sit on the floor.
Put a pencil in your shoe.
Sing the X Song in front of a student.
Look under a notebook.
Dance between two classmates.
Hold a pencil between your legs.


The Lying Game


Each student (and Instructor) has to create three lies about themselves and one truth. A grid is placed on the board with the Students names in rows going across, and lies/truth 1 to 4 going down. The students then tell their 4 facts and after all of the grid is filled, the "Interogation phase" begins. The students one by one ask questions to the subject, trying to discover whether he is lying or not. It requires focused listening skills and lying well requires a high level of speaking ability. The Winner is the one whom nobody guesses his truth. Second place goes to the one who guesses most of the truths.
Hint: Give your students a few days to come up with lies/truth, this way they really come up with some really great stories.

Teaching Young Children

Teaching simple vocabulary – Kindergarten level
A colorful picture will always help you to get your pupils’ attention in foreign language teaching. You can simply name the objects from the pictures and try to get your pupils repeat them. Yet it seems more appealing and persuasive to imitate their sounds too; or explain how they taste, and smell and look like.
Try to take one group – for example animals – and make the most of it by cutting out the images and placing them on the floor (about A4 format). There are numerous variations on how to teach them. Below some inspirations.

Exercise
Teacher :
-stands on the picture and makes the sounds of the animals
-asks the pupils to repeat the activity
Pupils:
-follow teacher’s instruction
Teacher:
-stands on the picture and says the name of the animals
-asks the pupils to repeat the activity
Teacher :
-hides the images and gives each pupil the role of one of the animals
-imitates the sound of the animal, or shows a random picture,
Pupil: 
-the pupil whose animal is mentioned stands up and says the name of it.
